Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long will our session take? – A typical session will last around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Plenty of time to get in a variety of shots, change clothing, all while not rushing! Mini sessions last up to 20 minutes, and will provide plenty of time for a nice variety of images to choose from!
  • Do we get to keep all of the images? No, but really that’s a good thing! I shoot around 800-1100 images during a typical All Inclusive session. Part of my job, or why you are hiring me if for my artistic eye. I go through and “cull” your images to find the best of the best! Trust me, I provide you every, single image I feel is good, and you would be happy with, approximately 30 final images for an All Inclusive Session with the opportunity to purchase more digital files if you like!

    • Do we own the copyright? No, but you do have extensive rights to print, share, and save your images forever!
  • How long will it take for us to get our prints back? Within 1-2 days of your session, you will see a sneak peek on my site, and social medial accounts! Then, you will receive an email with a link to your password protected online gallery around 2-3 weeks from our session in which you can then download your images directly from the gallery!

  • What should we wear? You’re in luck! I wrote a great post about that here!
  • What should we bring to our session? I recommend bringing snacks and drinks for the little ones. Sometimes their favorite toy, or stuffy is a good idea to have on hand! I bring all the props we will need based on the kid’s ages, and a blanket to protect your clothing. I love when families incorporate their own props, so please bring anything you’d like to see in your images 🙂

    • Where will our session take place? A mutual, agreed upon location within Sonoma or Marin County. I have several locations I like to shoot at, but I’m always open for suggestions!
  • We live outside of Sonoma and Marin County, do you travel? Yes I do! Some of my favorite clients live in various parts of the bay area. Note that I do apply a travel fee of $50 to travel outside of Sonoma or Marin County.

    • We want to do an extended family session with multiple generations and families, do you do this? Yes! Bring your pets along too! Note that the session fee includes up to 5 people, each additional person will be $25.
  • My kids are sick, can we reschedule? Yes! I have kids so I know how that goes! Please give me at least 24-hour notice if you can, the next available session date, and time will be offered to you.

    • Do I need to sign a contract? Yes! The contract is to protect both you and I, and is available here.
  • Do I need to pay a retainer fee? Yes, a signed contract and retainer fee of half the total amount of your session is required to book and hold your session date. Deposits can be paid by check, Paypal, or cash. (Retainer payments are not refundable for cancelations.)

    • When do I pay the remainder of our balance? I collect the remaining balance at the end of our session. You are welcome to pay it prior to our session as well 🙂
  • My child has special needs, can you accommodate us? Absolutely! I enjoy working will all types of people! Please message me any special requests that will help your child feel more relaxed and comfortable during our session.

    • Do you offer prints, or only the digital downloads? I’m happy to provide you high quality, archival prints, printed on luxury linen paper! View my print price list here!
  • I want to make my own prints from our digital downloads, anything I should know? Absolutely! Not all commercial grade print labs are created equal. Read more about that here.

    • Will you photoshop us? Yes! I pride myself on the final images I provide to you. I make every image on your disk look the best it can. I do this through taking each image through an editing process that includes correcting overall skin tones, color, clarity, and contrast. In addition, I do some minor slimming if requested, and run a skin smoothing program so that everyone looks their very best! I also remove any elements I find distracting in the image, such as stray hairs, blemishes, cuts or bruises. Extensive editing, such as the removal of braces is available for an additional fee.
    • Do you offer Gift Certificates? Absolutely! You can purchase a gift certificate for any service I provide! Message me and I provide you the details!
    • Do you donate sessions for schools, charities, or other fund-raisers? Yep! I love making donations to good causes! Please message me for details, I’d love to help your cause 🙂
    • We you offer any discounts for loyal customers? Heck yes! My return customers receive $50 off each and every future All Inclusive session they book with me, or $25 mini sessions!
  • Do we receive color, or black and white images? You will receive a mixture of both! All the images I capture can be edited as b&w. While I’m editing, some images just scream, “make me black and white!” So, that is how I edit, and present that image to you in your gallery and disk. If you ever receive a b&w image you would prefer in color, just let me know! I’m happy to provide you with a color copy!
